Advanced AFM for Nano-Bio Research

February 8

1:00pm, DBI Main Conference Room 102
Since the introduction of the first commercial Atomic Force Microscope, AFM has become an increasingly important tool in a wide range of scientific areas.  AFM offers the unique ability to probe a myriad of topographic and physical properties on the sub micron scale.  This seminar will highlight the new Bioscope II Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM), which has been specifically designed to facilitate advanced biological research.

February 14

10:30am, DBI Main Conference Room 102
The MFP-3D-Bio is designed to combine the high resolution imaging and sensitive (pN) force measurement capability of the AFM with a variety of optical techniques such as Phase Contrast, Fluorescence, Confocal, TIRF, and FRET, depending on the users interest. For this demonstration, Asylum Research will be performing combined AFM with Fluorescence measurements. This strategy of combined modality experiments provides researchers with powerful new capabilities for understanding complex biological systems such as molecules, cells, tissues, polymers, and a wide variety of biomaterials. The MFP-3D-Bio is a unique blend of flexibility and precision, ideally suited for users at all levels of expertise.
All are welcome to attend
