March 8 and March 9, 2002

Los Alamos Research Park Conference Center

The first Annual NIH–IDeA Bioinformatics Workshop was held March 8 and 9, 2002 at the Los Alamos Research Park Conference Center in New Mexico. 75 bioinformatics core leaders representing BRIN and RCMI programs in over 30 States attended the workshop.

The Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (BRIN) and Research Centers at Minority Institutions (RCMI) programs are supported by the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The goal of this workshop was to provide a forum for the BRIN and RCMI Bioinformatics Core user groups. National experts introduced core issues and served as discussion leaders. Hands-on demonstrations were available during the conference for participants.
