Research Overview:

Dr. Wheeler’s research interests include the effect of nursing interventions on patient outcomes and health promotion for cardiopulmonary patients. She has conducted research on telephone intervention and patient outcomes and is currently looking at the long term effect of automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator on patients. Her academic focus is adult medical-surgical nursing. She teaches undergraduate and graduate nursing students. In addition, she is a nursing consultant at Kendal Continuing Community.

Dr. Wheeler is a member of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialist, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Delaware Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International and Eastern Nursing Research Society. Her experiences include teaching at the University of Rochester and State University of New York at Brockport.
