Research Overview:

Dr. Hardie obtained a BA from Hofstra University. He obtained his BSN and MSN from SUNY Stony Brook, specializing in psychiatric nursing. He is a certified clinical nurse specialist in adult psychiatric and mental health nursing. He obtained his doctorate in nursing from Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to joining the University of Delaware Dr. Hardie has functioned as a research nurse, therapist, administrator and educator in psychiatry. His roles have been diverse within the delivery of psychiatric care and treatment of dependency and allowed him to become an expert clinician, teacher and researcher with numerous collaborations on research projects, posters, presentations and papers. Most recently he has completed a research fellowship at the Treatment Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Further, he has completed a fellowship at NIH (NINR intramural fellowship in molecular genetics) and has taken additional course work in statistical genetics, structural equation modeling and microarray use and analysis. His current research is examining predictive models in adolescent suicidal behavior.
