Future Activities
- Launch outreach activities: the first project may be to invite in a specialist on ethical issues pertaining to health care and administration of health care units. The specialist would put on a workshop for Delaware people. Those people would then, in consultation with Christiana Care’s needs, go to Christiana Care and put on a workshop designed specifically to address their needs and concerns in the health care sector – likely during the 03-04 academic year.
- Begin faculty teaching improvement grants.
- Expand involvement of undergraduates and graduate students in ethics instruction and research. Possibly through the Office of Undergraduate Research and Graduate Offices. This initiative would lead with one of UD’s recognized strengths based on the Carnegie & Boyer reports.
- Begin to address concerns of the public over ethical issues: in areas of environmental concerns, corporate trust, and biotechnology, among others.
- Enhance future grant applications by incorporation of ethics program as the program takes shape with the help of the deans and their representatives.
